The North Dakota AHEC will establish an infrastructure to:
Increase distribution, diversity, supply, and quality of health care personnel responsive to both state and local community health care delivery needs;
Enhance the quality of health professions education by utilizing academic resources across North Dakota; and
Increase the number and diversity of providers serving in rural underserved areas.
Activities
Activities will be developed to a web site that provides information on health care professions to attract traditional and non-traditional students to careers in the health professions. Health workforce awareness programs will be created including career fairs, job shadowing opportunities, and health care camps to increase students’ knowledge of health care careers. The AHEC will take an active role in educating state legislators about health care recruitment and retention issues.
