The Health Workforce Information Center (HWIC) provides free access to the most recent resources on the nation’s health workforce in one easy-to-use online location. Resources available through HWIC’s Web site will help health providers, educators, researchers and policymakers around the nation develop strategies to meet future workforce demands.

Through HWIC, you can stay up-to-date with the latest health workforce news and events, and connect with experts and organizations across the country.

The Health Workforce Information Center is funded by the Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. BHPr, along with its HRSA partners—Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP), and Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service (BCRS)—support the work of the Health Workforce Information Center.

The foundation of healthcare in the United States of America is its health professions workforce. The Bureau of Health Professions provides national leadership in the development, distribution and retention of a diverse, culturally competent health workforce necessary to provide quality care for all. BHPr’s mission is to increase the population's access to health care by providing national leadership in the development, distribution and retention of a diverse, culturally competent health workforce that can adapt to the population's changing health care needs and provide the highest quality of care for all.
