Evaluation and Analysis of Disability Health Project
The North Dakota Disability Health Project will promote the health and wellness of North Dakota citizens with disabilities, and prevent or lessen the effects of secondary conditions associated with disabilities. The goal of the program is to develop and implement a strategic plan that addresses the health and wellness needs of persons with disabilities such that they have improved health and a reduction or elimination of secondary conditions related to their disabilities. The core objectives are to (a) establish a state office on disability health; (b) provide a system of
statewide data collection, analysis and reporting on the health and wellness conditions of North Dakota citizens with disabilities; (c) develop a comprehensive strategic health plan that incorporates disability health issues into ongoing and new health initiatives across the state; (d) develop and
implement collaborative activities in health promotion, marketing, and emergency preparedness that includes persons with disabilities and their health needs; and (e) improve the access to health care and wellness programs for persons with disabilities.
