R-COOL-Health Scrubs Academy June 17-20, 2013
The University of North Dakota Campus, Grand Forks, ND
Open to North Dakota students who will have completed grades 6-8
The University of North Dakota (UND) Rural Collaborative Opportunities forOccupational Learning in Health (R-COOL-Health) Scrubs Academy is a four day/three night camp held on the University of North Dakota campus.
The Scrubs Academy encourages middle school students from across North Dakota to pursue a career in health care. Students participate in hands-on activities and received information related to a variety of health care professions. In addition to the experiences with health care professionals, students are certified in Friends and Family CPR and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
The Scrubs Academy serves as a mini-preparation program to strengthen academic skill sets associated with health disciplines, introduce adolescents to a higher education experience, and foster a relationship between the students and the University. Students will sleep in the UND dorms all three evening.
