Brad Gibbens provided testimony on North Dakota health issues and health reform to Senator Kent Conrad as part of the Senator's "Health Reform Round Table" held at Altru Health System. Mr. Gibbens was part of a panel of six experts.

Kylie Nissen recently traveled to Bismarck to assist the ND Health Information Technology (HIT) Steerng Committee with a demonstration to legislators entitled "HIT 101: Connecting North Dakota for a Healthier Future." This meeting was held at the ND State Capitol in Bismarck on December 13th, 2009 to specifically give legilators an opportunity to gain information and ask questions on HIT, learn about the ND healthcare facilities' adoption of HIT, and view brief demonstrations on technology used in healthcare. HIT 101 is geared toward educating legislators on HIT so that they can make an informed decision when voting on a bill created by the HIT Steering Committee and sponsored by Senators Judy Lee and Larry Robinson that proposes a HIT grant progam and the establishment of an Office of Health Information Technology within the Department of Health.
