KayLynn Bergland
KayLynn has been employed by the UND Center for Rural Health for 5 years. In her current position as Administrative Assistant, Ms. Bergland assists multiple P.I.’s on their funded projects. Some of her duties include: assisting in grant preparation, proofreading documents, preparation of PowerPoint presentations, coordination of meetings and conference calls, travel arrangements and reimbursements, assisting in preparation of conferences/workshops, and other general secretarial duties. Prior to her position at the Center, KayLynn served as Administrative Secretary at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Therapeutics for 13 years where she assisted in manuscript preparation, journal publications and book articles, as well as other general secretarial duties.
Established in 1980, the Center for Rural Health is one of the nation's most experienced rural health organizations. It has developed a full complement of programs to assist researchers, educators, policymakers, health care providers and, most importantly, rural residents to address changing rural environments by identifying and researching rural health issues, analyzing health policy, strengthening local capabilities, developing community-based alternatives, and advocating for rural concerns.

Projects
- Area Health Education Center Program -- The purpose of the AHEC is to improve the distribution, diversity, supply and quality of health care personnel in the health care services delivery system.
- Flex Program -- Assist small rural hospitals to maintain access to health services for rural residents.
