Gray Gives Presentation in Remote Alaskan Village

Jacque Gray, PhD, talked about elder abuse at the Denakkanaaga Elders and Youth Conference June 4 in Nulato, Alaska.

Gray's presentation at the conference was titled "Respect, Honor, and Dignity." While the remote village of Nulato has a population of about 250 people, the conference included 43 villages in the interior of Alaska.

"The conference tripled the population of the Nulato," Gray said.

Gray is an associate director of the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She also serves as the principal investigator and director of the National Indigenous Elder Justice Initiative.
