Schroeder Named Co-chair of National Behavioral Health Workforce Work Group

Shawnda Schroeder of the Center for Rural Health was chosen as co-chair for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Mental Health Technology Transfer Center network-wide Behavioral Health Workforce Work Group. This group represents every U.S. Health and Human Services region discussing and working on behavioral health workforce issues.
Schroeder will share rural information, rural resources, and co-chair all activities. After a year of service to the group, Schroeder with then serve as chair.
"This workgroup includes national experts in the fields of workforce and behavioral health," Schroeder said. "I am thrilled to be working alongside these individuals while ensuring that best practices, assessments, and other resources acknowledge the unique barriers and opportunities for rural communities."
