NDDoH Recruiting Health Professionals for COVID-19

Apr 22, 2020

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) is asking healthcare partners and professionals to help in recruiting healthcare professionals who are willing to join the fight against COVID-19 in North Dakota. The NDDoH team is preparing the state for the fight against the COVID-19 by building a pool of healthcare workers available to support facilities and emergency response efforts.

Two registration processes are established for healthcare professionals who are willing and available to assist in this fight; the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and the Workforce Coordination Center (WCC).

Medical Reserve Corps

The MRC is designed to have a pool of health and medical personal to recruit and deploy for a specific mission, typically deployed as a team to an emergent situation. This program has been in existence since 2002 and is used to call up volunteers to respond to in-state and out-of-state missions.

Workforce Coordination Center

The WCC was established to create a pool of potential workers and volunteers who can be available to help as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. The WCC provides an online request for assistance to be made by facilities, businesses, and agencies that are needing to hire and fill a position.
