General Surgery Available to All in Rural North Dakota
Mary Aaland is a North Dakota native and University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences graduate. She leads the Rural Surgery Support Program to help recruit and retain rural surgeons. Her goal is to decrease the miles traveled for general surgery.
for Rural Health Staffer Awarded Grand Challenge Seed Grant
Shawnda Schroeder received a $3,200 University of North Dakota Seed Grant to propose research and seek additional financial support to study fluoride varnish application among pediatric patients in North Dakota. The results of the research will help inform healthcare providers and encourage widespread application of varnish, improving oral health for all pediatric patients.
North Dakota Rural Hospitals Named in Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals
Ten North Dakota Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) are named 2018 Top 100 CAHs, by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for overall excellence in rural healthcare.
