Kristine Sande, MBA

Kristine Sande serves as the project director of the Rural Assistance Center at the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks.

The Rural Assistance Center (RAC) was established in 2002 as a rural health and human services "information portal" to help rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents. As the project director, Sande manages the development of RAC's products and services, including its web-based resources. She also coordinates the activities among the RAC partners and works to develop and promote RAC activities.

Sande previously served as the project coordinator for the North Dakota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (Flex) Program at the Center for Rural Health. In that capacity, she provided technical assistance to North Dakota's rural hospitals. She continues to serve as a Steering Committee member for the Flex Program. Prior to joining the Center for Rural Health, she worked in the finance departments of two rural electric cooperatives.

Sande was raised on a family farm outside of a North Dakota town of 1,200 people. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from UND.
