Rebecca Quinn, MSW

Rebecca Quinn, LCSW, is project coordinator for The Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) State Partnership Grant at the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, ND.

Quinn’s past experience includes working in various settings, primarily with in the health care field. She has served as an adjunct professor in the Social Work Department at UND where she taught courses on gerontology and substance abuse. She has past experience as a hospice social worker providing services to patients and families. Quinn completed an internship working at the Dallas VA hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services. Quinn also served as a graduate field intern as a School Social Worker for the Arlington, TX Public Schools where she worked with at risk families and children.

Quinn is a licensed social worker and obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in May of 2000 and her Bachelor of Arts degree form Texas A&M in 1997.

Established in 1980, the Center for Rural Health is one of the nation's most experienced rural health organizations. It has developed a full complement of programs to assist researchers, educators, policymakers, health care providers and, most importantly, rural residents to address changing rural environments by identifying and researching rural health issues, analyzing health policy, strengthening local capabilities, developing community-based alternatives, and advocating for rural concerns.

Projects

  • SEARCH -- The SEARCH (Student/Resident Experiences And Rotations in Community Health) program provides health professions students and residents with opportunities to work on interdisciplinary health care teams.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury State Partnership Grant Program -- Works toward the building of a comprehensive system of coordinated services for individuals with TBI and their families.
  • VA Central Region Rural Health Resource Center -- Supports a number of new initiatives to enhance health care delivery to rural veterans and close gaps in quality and access to care that may result from the geographic isolation faced by rural veterans.
