Erin Kunz, PhD - Bio Sketch

Erin Kunz is an information specialist with the Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks.

Erin's responsibilities fall under the Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub), where in this role, Erin identifies and indexes resources to the RHIhub website, creating easy access for people seeking information on rural health-related issues. She provides assistance through our Resource and Referral Service, as well as writing and maintaining topic and state guides. Erin's focuses are social determinants of health, maternal health, healthcare access, and more. She also acts as the liaison to states in the central U.S. Before joining CRH, Erin worked as an English faculty member, writing program administrator, and writing center director.

Originally from Mandan, North Dakota, Erin earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English as well as a PhD in educational foundations and research from UND. Erin has four peer-reviewed publications, the latest in Survive & Thrive: A Journal for Medical Humanities and Narrative as Medicine and is the director of the community nonprofit writing project Voices of the Valley.
