Medical - Dental Integration in North Dakota
This fact sheet describes the reach, patients served, and the outcomes of a medical-dental integration model employed in the University of North Dakota's Center for Family Medicine in Bismarck. This integrated care model provides dental screenings, fluoride varnish application, dental referrals, and care coordination for patients in the primary care setting while also educating medical residents and direct care staff quarterly on the direct relationship between oral health and overall health.
