Funding Opportunity: The Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) Program
Feb 6, 2025
The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy has opened the Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) Program grant opportunity. Up to 15 awards, each up to $750,000, will be given for the 3-year period of performance. The funding will improve and expand access to healthcare in rural areas by developing new sustainable rural residency programs, including rural track programs.
Eligible applicants include all domestic public and private, nonprofit or for-profit, entities. Applicants must propose a new rural residency program in a qualifying medical specialty. Qualifying medical specialties are family medicine, internal medicine, preventive medicine, psychiatry, general surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology.
How to Apply
Applications are now being accepted through Grants.gov. The closing date for applications is April 10.
The Center for Rural Health is available to provide feedback on prepared applications from North Dakota entities prior to submission in Grants.gov. Please reach out to State Office of Rural Health Grant Program Director Nicole Threadgold with your request no later than March 31, in order to allow time for review and feedback.
