Allee Mead, MA - Bio Sketch

Allee Mead is a web writer for the Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) at the Center for Rural Health (CRH) within the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks. In this position, she writes for the Rural Monitor, RHIhub's online magazine, and the Rural Health Models and Innovations section, which features rural health programs and interventions addressing the health needs of the nation's rural population. Allee also offers great attention to detail as RHIhub's copy editor.

Prior to joining the CRH, Allee taught first-year composition as a graduate teaching assistant for UND. She also worked as a substitute teacher and as a student writer for her hometown and college newspapers. She's had poems and short stories published in different literary journals, and in 2023 one of her short stories was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Allee grew up in Hazen, North Dakota, and earned both her master of arts degree in English and bachelor of arts degree in English and Spanish education from UND.
