Gretel Kauffman, BA - Bio Sketch

Gretel Kauffman is a web writer with the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks.

Gretel's main responsibility is writing for the Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub), including articles for the Rural Monitor, RHIhub's online magazine, and the Rural Health Models and Innovations section on the website, to address rural-specific issues and connect users to appropriate resources and information.

Originally from upstate New York, Gretel now lives in rural Idaho. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in American studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2016. Before joining RHIhub, Gretel covered state and local government for the Magic Valley Times-News and the Idaho Mountain Express in south-central Idaho, was a breaking news reporter for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, and reported on national issues for The Christian Science Monitor in Boston.
