Explanation of Registration Fees

When you register for this year's Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health, you may note that the registration fees have increased. The conference planning committee is committed to keeping attendee costs as low as possible. However, after the 2019 conference, we conducted a careful review of our financials and determined that from 2016–2020, the conference had an average loss of $9,900 per year.

While conference costs have increased significantly, registration costs have increased only minimally over the past 10 years, with a total increase of only $5.00 since 2011. We have examined and are implementing strategies to decrease our overall conference costs, but even with that, an increase in registration fees was necessary. We are confident that these fees are within range of comparable conferences, and we believe that attendees will still receive value for their money, and we hope that you will understand the need to increase fees.
