North Dakota ranks 11 in the nation for its rate of suicide deaths and nationally, 10% of those who died by suicide were seen in an emergency department one month prior to death.

Use Kognito’s online, interactive simulation to prepare emergency department staff to screen patients at risk for suicide and substance abuse.

This FREE training is available to:

• All emergency department staff in the state
• Providers
• Nurses
• Social workers
• Other support staff that reach the patient

How to TAKE the Training

• Click the training link
• Enter basic identification information
• Enter and complete the 90 minute training at anytime
• Can save progress and complete later
• Answer follow-up survey
• Earn 1.5 Continuing Education Units/Credits through the North Dakota Board of Nursing or the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award and continuing medical education credit system (CME AMA PRA Category 1 Credits)

Note for those living outside of North Dakota: Training has been reserved specifically for North Dakota Hospitals and, as a result, can only be completed in-state. Computers located outside of North Dakota will not be able to access the program.
